Description
This a nationwide honor society establish to recognize high school students of German who excel in the study of German language, literature and culture. There are over 500 chapters nationwide. Alpha Rho, the chapter at Big Walnut High School was established in 1992.
Requirements
~Students must be in their third semester of German study
~Students must have a 3.66 GPA in their German courses
~Students must a a 3.0 overall GPA
~Students must participate in the induction ceremony
~Students must participate yearly in activities to promote the study of German
Induction Ceremony
Delta Epsilon Phi inducts its new members each year during the month of March. Parents and family members are invited to come to this candle light ceremony which takes place in the high school auditorium. Members who have been previously inducted are in charge of the ceremony.

~Teaching elementary students about Christmas customs in Germany and Austria
~Talking to students in the Middle School about the German Program at the Big Walnut High School
